im going to be getting a cable modem soon, as the cable internet is coming out where i live very soon, do i have to be carefull as to cable modems, as i would have to be with WinModems?, are there such things as WinCableModems?, also would they be ok with linux?thank you

adobe illustrator 8 won't run. i have never had this problem before. i've tried uninstalling and installing several times but i can't get it to run. what could be the problem? any sugestions?

Connected, but can't go anywhere
I just installed Mandrake 7.0 and everything went fine, but when I connect to my isp (earthlink) I can't go anywhere. If I try to go to yahoo.com or chud.com it will give me an error like "non valid domain name" or something like that. I'm 100% positive that I'm connected to my isp b/c the damn thing tells me that I'm connected.Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.

I used kppp to set up my internet connection but it keeps saying either my modem is busy or it can't find it. Can anybody help.
