I have VB 4.0 cant use it though cause it tells me my odbc files are not same version? Have VB 5.0 book, V C++ software but dont know C code, and have V J++ 6.0 but dont know java code well enough (all those items were free). Gawd does anyone have any ideas?

I read some texts about cgi and I have by now a global overview of the process
(chmod, ssi...). And Last 15 visitors is a bit hard to start learning... But anyway, I started, I
continue.
OK. I have a VirtualAve account which allows cgi perl script.
First, I had to change the paths of counter.txt and hits.txt.
I will change later the static IP for my friends.
I created the two .txt files. Q1 :
But where have I to store these files? Anywhere ? In a specific location (a different url than my VirtualAve account?). In the virtualave webspace ? I have renamed the hits script into hits.cgi after deleting all red sentences and uploaded this file in the /public_html/cgi-bin/ directory. I uploaded the hits.cgi in ASCII mode and set his properties to chmod 755.I created an html file with the following line :
LAMER ATTEMPTED TO INSERT A FORM TAG HERE ACTION="/public_html/cgi-bin/hits.cgi" > LAMER ATTEMPTED TO INSERT A FORM TAG HERE >
... and I uploaded it in my VirtualAve directory, hoping that it will launch the cgi... (without any success, as u guess ;) )Q2:
