Post all your [b:43764bd328]movie reviews[/b:43764bd328] here. Try to stay on topic and leave the chat for out of this thread. I could make a forum for this, but I don't think I really have to.
In the body, name the release date if it isn't open to the public yet, main actors and then your synopsis. Pics are a welcome addition, just be courtious of size, resize them when they alter the forum layout, or I'll end up doing it for you, and I hate doing that.[/color:43764bd328]

[b:ba2161bb74]Release Date[/b:ba2161bb74]: July 23rd, 2004 (wide).
Starring: Matt Damon, Franka Potente, Brian Cox, Joan Allen, Julia Stiles
I bought the [i:ba2161bb74]Bourne Identity[/i:ba2161bb74] and watched it before I went to see its sequal. I had seen Identity before, but I wanted a fresh look for when I went in to see its sequal. Unlike most sequals, this one took off from where it left us just a few years before, and it never stopped once it took hold of our attention. The action scenes were believable and flawless, the car chase, amazing and the story flowed. I would have to say you definatly can't help being more drawn to the Bourne charicter in this one, the plot sucks you in like a whirlpool and you end up feeling just as Bourne does.
This isn't just your run of the mill revenge story either. With charicter depth and plot twists, you anticipate the next scene, instead of predicting it.
Most will complain that the camera work was to shakey, which I admit, sitting in the front row does give you a chance to get reaclimented with your nausia functions, but watching the special features on Identity, they had an interview with director Paul Greengrass, and he explains how the quick camera movment ( filmed with a hand held cam ) puts the viewer right in the fight, leaving them guessing where the next punch is comming from, not just seeing it thrown.
Over all I enjoyed the film and I'll most likley go see it again.
Starring: John Cho, Kal Penn, Neil Patrick Harris, Ethan Embry, Steve Braun
Let me just start off by saying if your going into this movie expecting anything more than a stoner movie, don't go. I walked into the theater at midnight for the late show, sat back prepared for some serious laughing, prepped from the movie trailers I posted on here, and I have to say I wasn't let down.
From the start John Cho and Kal Penn deliver an excellent portrayal of todays stoneresque odd couple, and carry it out until the glorious end. The sub charicters are predictable, yet laughable and some of the scenes are recycled from previous comedys ( raccoon in the car ) but all in all you just don't care, the lure of the white castle burgers pulls you in, shameless plug after shameless plug. By mid-movie you want a burger, and you want one now, more over, you want to see harold and kumar get one too.
Walking out of the movie, myself and 2 friends agreed we all had 'The Crave' and hit up our local White Castle for 26 burgers, 3 fries and 3 pops with out even a second thought to the fact we had been brainwashed for 2 hours to believe we wanted it. For me it was the very same commercial that pulls Harold and Kumar into thier trip, my bet, it will be the same for you as well.
If your lookin for some easy laughs with out the waste of plot, check out this flick, I'll give it 3 out of 5.[/color:1274ce63a0]
I rather enjoyed this movie. the story is one of the best I have seen, and it develops nicly. The over all feel for the movie kinda left me wanting and unless you are making an effort to not predict the ending, it is painfully easy as the climax approaches. Still even with this in mind, the movie is well worth its viewing in the theater. A couple of spots filled with suspence, a horror movie thats not really a horror movie.
An over hyped movie by marketing genious M. Night Shyamalan, its only fault is its own boosted expectations. If this was Nights debut movie - it would be criticly acclaimed, it is only because of his previous similarily built up movies that this one falls short. In my mind each film should be based on its own merit, not those previous to it.
My rating, **** 4 stars out of 5[/color:3986b77a80]
Starring: Sanaa Lathan, Lance Henriksen, Raoul Bova, Ewen Bremner, Colin Salmon
Your quinticential big movie monster Vrs big movie monster movie. It is exactly what it is, and it delivers nicely. I left wanting more, as if the conclusion wasn't enough for me. I don't know, I was undecided on this movie over all. I enjoyed it, there was just something about it that I didn't like and I have yet to nail it down. The movie had all the things you would expect, the creepyness of the Aliens, the badass preditor, the meddling humans that never do what any sane person would do, and thats stay out of the way of a 7 foot tall angry alien with dreds and a spear.
The story develops rather quickly and you can tell its there just so you can get into the location, other than that - story is wasted on this movie. simply put, the preditors come back once every 100 years to put thier young preditors through a right of passage so to speak by waking up the aliens and then killing them in a hunt contained in a pyramid built by the first civilizations. Basicly it would have gone as planned but humans evolved, technology enabled us to find the hunting grounds and the movie ensues.
If you are lookin for a rockem sockem all out ass kickin movie, I guess this is your choice.

Release date (Belgium,France & Switzerland): 24 March 2004
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314063/
Genre: Action, Sci-Fi
Immortel reminded me of the fifth elementh in some way, though they haven't that much in commen. The story, albeit weird, hangs together nicely. I would definatly recommend this movie after a good joint :-). This is a movie for those who like a good sci-fi, without the hollywood capitalism ruining it. As so,you won't see many big names on the screen... The only one that rang my bell was Thomas Kretschmann. Meh I suck at writing reviews
My rating **** 4 starts out of 5
my bookmarks I'd like to meet the man who invented sex and see what he's working on now.
Movie: Ninja-Terminator
Release date: Some time in the early 80's. who cares.
Genre: Action/kungfu
This film is so bad its funny, ninja's teleporting, and killing opponents in truely aful ways. The funniest part is when a ninja uses his ninja magic too self destruct but the dummie instead of blowing apart, flys off into the sky like a rocket.
In this film charles bronsen wages a one man war on crime against a over the top street gang which looks like some 5 year olds idea of a street gang should be like. I like the part where he is having dinner with the nice family who live down stairs from him and he hears his car alarm go off. After going out too his car and shooting dead the two people who were stealing from it he returns too dinner and the family buy his excuse that it was 'oh nothing'. Also at the end the is a riot and he runs though the street with a huge machine gun shooting every gang member in sight in the style of the virtual cop game while his friend feeds him ammo.
This film as far as i know has been deleted but if your lucky too find it somewhere, BUY IT! its bad, really really bad, but its so funny it will make you cry.
This is a brazillan film with subtitles, but don't let you put this off i would have too give it 5 stars, after watching this masterpeice i really wanted too buy a gun. The story follow a young man and some other kids in the slums of rio called the city of god. It starts in childhood and follows them as they grow older and take on occupations such as delivery boy or drug lord (yeh you get the idea) the film pretty much takes a steady pace until a local sharp shooter ex-solder called knockout ned. Has his family is gunned down in a act of pointless violence by one gang. Then he teams up with another street gang too carry out vengance upon the killers which starts a huge gang war. This movie sounds simple or stupid but it is so much deeper than i can describe it, think scarface mixed with goodfellas set in brazils slums where the cops are scared too tread.
Starring: Cole Hauser, Robin Tunney, Dennis Farina, Tom Sizemore, Larry Cedar
This movie is an excellent popcorn movie, one that does revenge in the style of \"Payback\". You get the feeling that this movie was made more for the actors than the general public. There are many times in the movie I found myself openly cheering the \"hero\" in this story, Cole Hauser, from \"Pitch Black\" fame. I was really impressed with the acting by Cole, the supporting cast was great, the only thing I saw lacking was the writing, but it is easily overshadowed by the story and the acting. Tom Sizemore delivers his standard great acting job and creates a believable sicko. This movie won't win any awards, and it won't go out as the best movie ever made, but its good enough for me to give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Starring: Scott Mechlowicz, Jacob Pitts, Michelle Trachtenberg, Travis Wester, Jessica Boehrs
THE MOST under-rated comedies in a long time. The public always wants to see a raunchy comedy, yet when one delivers on this scale, they called it \"to raunchy\" This has to be the most realistic portrayal of a quality road trip with friends, right down to all the little things that go wrong though out the movie. I found myself ROLLING with laughter at many times, and the DVD is packed with tons of special features. ( not to mention an index of all nude scenes ). The basis is this guy Scotty falls for his penpal after finding out she is a woman and heads off to europe with is friend cooper. Fate brings them together with a few other friends vacationing in Europe and the insanity ensues. Scotty and his friends trek across the entire continent of europe until the come to the climax in Rome.
I would highly suggest this DVD to anyone lookin to laugh thier ass off.
Starring: Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Damici
Alright... So I admit. I baught this DVD because I heard Meg Ryan gets naked. Holy shit. Minus the Naked Meg ryan materbating and fucking at various points in the movie.... ITS THE WORST...MOVIE..EVER.
I honestly had NO idea what was happening through out half this movie, once they FINALLY got back on track with the plot, they had introduced a plethera of charicters that had NOTHING to do with the movie and could have been cut all together. They tried to build up a wall of doubt, basicly tried to confuse the viewer as to who the bad guy might be, yet they show the bastard in the first few minutes of the movie so the whole time they are trying to confuse you, it just pisses you off more.
I thought about shutting it off at various points of the movie, but I just couldnt in hopes that Meg would get naked again, and eact time I thought it was getting to be a little to retarded, Meg would perform wonders by taking her top off. Coincidence?
I give this 0 out of 5 stars. If I was in the theater to see this movie, I may have torn out my seat, thrown it through the screen and then burned the theater down.[/color:100863e3ec]

Last weekend I first watched the old bourne identity TV miniseries (1988) as one big film/movie:
[img:e36e1da01c]http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006AG8D.01._PE13_SCMZZZZZZZ_.jpg[/img:e36e1da01c]
Although it was a bit old it is most like Robert Ludlums book.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0553260111/002-1852687-4423252?v=glance
Then I watched the bourne identity (2002):
[img:e36e1da01c]http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/39/67/30m.jpg[/img:e36e1da01c]
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0258463/
Because I first saw the mini series some of the thriller effect was gone.
But still it was different from both the book and the miniseries.
If you seen the original work, like me I would rate it as 3 out of 5.
For people who haven't it will probably be 3.5 out of 5 stars.
And as a finally I watched the bourne supremacy.

See purges review at the top of this thread.
Sequels generally tend to be a bit of a let down, but not The Bourne Supremacy. I agree with with purges comments, especially the european touch (the car chases, french people speaking french, russians speaking russian) the girl speaking broken english gives these movies something extra. I admit to having downloaded this movie because it doesn't come out here for another 4 days. Sadly it had french subtitles so I coudn't understand all of the french / russian scenes.
But if you are reading this and work for the MPAA etc.
I surely will watch this movie in the bios.
I usually download because:
a) I hate dutch subtitles.
b) It takes too long for a movie to appear here (should be no more than 12 hours).
c) they are usually not worth the money.
As for the shaky camera it didn't bother me at all.
I agree with the rating: 4 out of 5, but it all depends if you read the books or not.
As a side note:
For me a 5 out of 5 star movie needs to be a classic, something that plays psycological tricks with your mind. Your fantasy will continue were the movie left off, like good books do..
** Edit ** URL was messing up layout - made image of \"the Bourne Identity a link to the URL. ~p~
Starring: Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Mike Epps, Oded Fehr, Jared Harris
Two words: [b:8157d85a71]Jill Valentine[/b:8157d85a71]
It was a good movie, entertaining and it picked up right where [b:8157d85a71]Resident Evil[/b:8157d85a71] left off. I don't know why they made the name apocalypse instead of nemisis like the video game, but they did and it makes no sense. The movie centered around milla and nemisis, who moved like some b horror movie monster. Milla meets up with Guillory ( Jill Valentine ) and they commence to kick some zombie butt. In the end it was a video game movie and if you took it more than that you wouldnt have enjoyed even 5 minutes of the movie. I had a good time, but as cinima goes, this one ranks pretty low.
Starring: Julianne Moore, Dominic West, Gary Sinise, Alfre Woodard, Anthony Edwards
This was a very entertaining and somewhat unique movie. With out giving anything away, the premise has been done before, but not exactly like the forgotten does it. There were a few times in the movie when I damn near jumped out of my chair, and other times it was pretty slow. Julianne moore plays a good part, but anthony edwards is way under used, same with gary sinise. Both actors could have brought much to the table, instead they were limited to simple plot development. In the end once the story comes together, I was left wanting. You get the feeling where this movie is going a little over half the way through and unfortunatly, it doesnt deviate from that path much through to the ending. I felt there were a lot of holes in the plot and with tons of potential in this story, I felt let down.
I give this *** 3 out of 5 stars.[/color:e9434ce65e]
Starring: Chris Evans, Kim Basinger, Jason Statham, Jessica Biel, Noah Emmerich
I think they utilized every single cell phone cliche' that is possible in this movie, but still it comes out entertaining. As always Jason Statham is a blast to watch and Chris Evans did surprisingly well with a role that didn't have much room to roll with. The basic premise is a family gets hijacked and the mom figures out how to dial a phone by tapping wires together ( how a science teacher knows this I'm not sure) but it was at least believable, she makes contact with this irresponsible boy and the action ensues. With total disregard for all public safety laws, he barrels his way through traffic and people all the way to the climax.
Over all I think Kim Basinger needs to jump off a cliff... a very high cliff... but the movie was entertaining.
Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, John Travolta, Jacinda Barrett, Billy Burke, Jay Hernandez
Most people think this movie is a \"Backdraft 2\", but they sell it short in so many ways. I know a few fire fighters, and this is the most realistic portrayal as a fire fighter as he is in real life that I have seen in a movie to date. They really build on the charicters and you become attached to them as they are to each other. Through loss and through gain you begin to feel as they feel, all the way through the conclusion of the film. I have always admired the bravery of fire fighters, and the brave men and women of 9/11 cemented that feeling of admiration. This film really pulls on the heart strings and isn't one to be taken as lightly as another \"Backdraft 2\".
I really enjoyed this flick, and suggest it to anyone who ever had dreams of riding in that big red engine as a kid.
Starring: Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Kristen Miller, Masasa, Daran Norris
Wow. I laughed my ass off the whole film. From about 15 minutes in you forget your watching puppets, until you are violently reminded by a rather graphic puppet sex scene. I am sure this movie will offend a lot of people, but to those of the worlds populous that have a sence of humour, this movie will not dissapoint. They pull no punches as they sing \"America: Fuck Yeah\" and blow up every town from an Afganistan village to Cairo to Paris France. Matt Stone and Trey Parker claim this is thier swan song, thier last movie, even claim southpark is ending after this season. If this is true, I will say this, it couldn't have ended on a sweeter note.
The characters in the film made me cringe, and for that they get points. But the real selling point about this film is that it really does not go anywhere much at all, but keeps you entertained. Its not about the plot, but about the acting and the direction which is A+. This films nothing too write home about, but you won't be able too watch it and say, it was a waste of your time or you were not entertained.
