Whilst there are some individuals
who have had a greater influence on the development of the Net
than others, it has in general been developed by cooperation
between many people. An RFC is the 'official' mechanism for
that cooperation. RFC is short for Request For Comment. A document
is published for others to comment upon and there may well be
a subsequent document, also an RFC, incorporating those comments.
All of the Internet protocols and definitions are to be found
in one RFC or another.
This is a brief selection of those RFC's. If there are any others
that you think should be added to this list, please let
me know.
