what the hell is TFN?? I know that it stands for Tribe Flooding Network.... but whadda hell is it?

TFN stands for Tribe Flood Network and it's one of the sensationalised distributed attack tools available on the web at the moment [may have been used in the attacks against Yahoo!, CNN.com, Ebay, etc].It's a package used to flood networks so that the target it inundated with data, rendering it unable to respond to genuine requests. Basically large numbers of clients are installed on "zombie" machines, which are controlled by a "master" who tells the zombie machines who to flood and with what kind of data.

and it is infact a Linux tool yes? there is also some modif for the Win platform?

Yes, most of the daemons are designed to run on Linux [in fact, most of the flood networks such as TFN, TFN2k, trin00, and Stacheldraht are Linux/Unix only].However, there _is_ a Win32 port over for TFN and possibly trin00.

Wintrin00 actually... and as far as I can see it's the only Win32 portover...Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it only the daemon that's been ported over to Win32 and not the master client itself?
