I am working on a friends computer who did fdisk and will not recognize the win98 bootdisk as a system disk, also refuses to boot from cdrom, although it recognizes the hardware, tryed to reinstall cdrom and it wants to look on drive b? Keeps rebooting itself. any ideas? windoze is supposed to be really easy to load I dont understand why this is such a headache its running cmos bios and has a burner |

Did you try to configure the BIOS to boot from A deive then C. If so, and you're still having probs, instead of restarting all the time, actually power down the computer with the power switch. Sometimes the floppy controller gets hosed up and you actually have to power down in order for it to start up-for lack of a better definition.Peace, BROM |

what version of Fdisk r u using? U need the version that talks about "large disks" when it starts up for it to be able to recognise Win98 (fat 32) partitions... what CD are you trying to boot from? not all are bootable. |
