here's a lame one for you eleet people
ok all of you people who like to bitch about how all of the kids today are malicious and lazy and just wanna vandalize and crash sites
this is for you, because how can we actually do any real hacking if you won't tell us how?my question is, for me and all other people who know netbus and bo and dosp but don't know how to hack unix well is: ok we've got all the most frequently used passwords and all the commands but how do we use them? i mean how do we get to where we log in? or use the commands?please answer, it may be lame but isn't it necessary to know this to become one of you so called "elite" hackers

Re: here's a lame one for you eleet people
I dont remember any of the people here calling themselves "eleet" (all spelt wrong!) before. I dont know 'cos it aint my bag but I suggest you don't start off on such a negative vibe if ya want these guys to help you.I know it is nothing to do with me 'cos I haven't answered your question, but I am just trying to help you get the info you are after.
chill,
Noodles

Re: here's a lame one for you eleet people
This is what I think about getting help on this page...don't ask stupid or obvious questions. Think for yourself first. Half of the questions asked have already been answered. If I were half as intelligent as some of the people on this page, I wouldn't help these morons either.:)

Re: here's a lame one for you eleet people
First off, you're not going to garner any help by starting off with something like that. If anything, you turn people off helping you.Just a little side note. Everything I know I pretty much taught myself by reading and experimenting. I've never had some uber-r33t h4x0r tell me anything... which has slowed my progress somewhat, but I still try. And also, unix 'hacking' is kinda related to the cyber-vandalism you speak of ; )With that list of common default accounts, just log in through Telnet and you'll probably be given a login prompt to test with.

Re: here's a lame one for you eleet people
Well to say one thing ppl here never call themselves leet, it's one of the few sites were you don't get flamed espacially this tread!
Anyways I had to find out everything myself and never went to a bbs asking e.g. were can i find winsck.ocx?
I learned to use searchengines that way you can find just about every piece of info you need, and only asked some questions here, when i couldn't find the answer myself and wanted to hear another one's opinion.

here's some help
ok... You won't learn anything, unless you actually DO it (at least, that's how it works for me). So if you want to get to know UNIX, try getting your hands on a copy of UNIX. Better yet, get LINUX (almost free), install it, and play with it. Try looking at what the commands do. Learn C. You WON'T learn it by using other people's exploits, cause those might be patched, and you'lld still be left empty-handed.If you learn the way Linux works, you can try finding your own exploits, and you will understand WHY certain things can be used against the os. So, my best advice for now would be: Buy a good book (I'lld recommend Linux Unleashed by Sams (you'll get redhat linux for free with it), install linux, and start reading. Hope this helps ya a little.Law.
