what is the command to run a prog in unix?

for example, let's say the program is called "fortune". put a ./ in front of it.so in da command prompt, type "./fortune"

if you type in a command and it tells you it doesnt exist then it probably just means its not in your path (to change the path "set PATH=***** ; export PATH")

go to the directory the prog/binary is in and type in ./ before the name of teh prog

the ./ means "in this directory" sort of

not sure but you might be talking bout the exec command as well

and you were right that really was a lame unix que
