unix newbie

sometimes when I try to change directories I am told that no such file or directory exists? I know that is not true because using ls tells me that the folder is there. Do I use exec to run proggies?

Re: unix newbie

remember Unix is case sensitive. This might be causing your directory problems.

Re: unix newbie

to execute a binary file you just type its name, if the file is not in your path, i.e. /bin, /sbin, /usr/bin, etc, then you will have to instruct linux to execute the file in the current directory by putting a ./ before the filename:./thefileiwanttorun
