Guyz....
I just thought of an absolute beauty of a domain name... and luckily noone has it yet..
woohoo... well my query... where's the most secure and relatively cheap place to register it with.. and what are the diff types of registrations I get... I mean some domains are hosted on sum1 else's server with about 100mb of space... like www.crokket.de some others... its just the domain NAME thats registered, but the actual files are then just brought in from a free host like geocities.... whats the price diff between these two and are there anymore options?.. well I'm off now to check netsolutions.com anymore would be gr8.... ;-)

well thanx guyz.... okay here's what my research has turned up.... correct me if I'm wrong... first I must REGISTER the domain name.... and at networksolutions its like $70 for 2 years.. but as 1 of u said I'll check out u2.uk or wuteva..... that amount of moola doesn't matter if it means no banners..... uhmmmm..... and then, if i want it to be a virtual server, then I gotta sign up with sum1 who'll host it for me and gimmie diskspace.. right?.... well i saw something like astrosurf which is givin 30mb at about 7$ a month and 75mb at about 17$ a month.... but I bet there should be far better deals out there.... which I must go on a foxhunt.... so guyz plz help me out there if u know any goood deals..... but remember.... cheaper the price, slower the network[usually is goes down from T3 to T1].... sooo u know what I'm getting at there.... :)

hm
well I checked the services section deej, and I must say that I've seen far cheaper deals... 25£ a month I might not be able to handle atleast for the next 7 months...I'm lookin for something about 10£ a month...
i know someone who had crokket.de with 100mb and didn't pay very much at all......okay, how about this... I register the domain name, but have the actual files on geocities or somthing?.... i know, that sucks

Re: hm
if you do that on Geocities, u still get the annoying Geocities thing pop up.As for the prices here, you get what you pay for, see the long list of stuff you get for your money. Also speed, as of June all these servers are moving to Global Crossing, currently the biggest, fastest co-hosting network in the world.

Re: hm
Or, get a T1 or T3 line direct to your house and host your own server. But, that isn't cheap.G-Luck, BROM
