Re: ICQ *.CHT Files
wow, funny you should ask... i was looking for one briefly yesterday, no joy. Let me know if you find something. You can read most of it by loading it into text pad tho... also, you can probably change some of the headers so that ICQ thinks its yours, then u can view it in your own ICQ Archive.

Re: ICQ *.CHT Files
Thx for replying deej, I tried quick view plus and if you change txt encoding to ASCII and document view to draft its not to bad..better than txtpad. I havnt been able to import any chats even my own and would really like to use the chat player for viewing also.
It wont export a chat to txt file thats over 15k or so either, seems to be a common problem lookin at the icq boards. Can I change some headers to get import to work?

A way that works !
all you have to do is this,
say your ICQ # is 66666666, your chat files would be 666666660.CHT
if you have had a few chats you will see them named as follows
666666660.CHT
666666661.CHT
666666662.CHT
666666663.CHT
666666664.CHT
etc.....
the #.CHT file that you want to look at might be
333333332.CHT
delete all(or copy to a different folder) your chats in your chat folder within ICQ, then rename the 333333332.CHT to 666666660.CHT, now go on to the ICQ message archives, and you can view the chat as if it was one of your own, from that you can save it to text format.M3gA
