need help with something...
This is probably a really easy question, but how would you put a simple file into an installation directory? The end result being that when I eventually run the installed program, the file will take effect? I'm still unsuccessful after many stupid attemps. Also I'm running Windows 98 if that's of any relevance.thanx to anybody

I think what he means is to put a file like a Trojan or what ever in the folder game lets say Need For Speed and when some1 runs the game his file gets run.
Right?!

Re: need help with something...
It's not a trojan or anything like that. Basically I have an unregistered version of A4Proxy. So I downloaded 'A4Proxy keyfile generator' from someone. It creates a 'user.key' file and it says to put the file in the A4Proxy installation directory to turn it into the full registered version. I know, I'm burning in hell because I didn't pay for it. But morality aside, how would I go about doing this? I feel really stupid because I'm able to crack password protected sites, but I'm unable to do something as simple as putting a file in a directory. Some will probably say that the person sent me a trojan, but I don't see it as a trojan after checking it out.

Re: need help with something...
You copy the crack to the install directory, if this does not work you probably need to install the program in the de default directory given by the instalation program (wizard, shield) do not change it, then copy the crack to that directory again and run it.
BTW running cracks isn't that bad i believe in freeware and open source *s*

So far I was unsuccessful, but thanks for the advice.Unfortunately, the program doesn't have an accessible installation dir. But I never considered installing it with Wizard or Shield.
